When I started this clown......... thought this will be good...... Jeni!!!!


I am not a knitter ..as my passion is Patchwork No 1... & Crocheting No 2 .....But I took the needles in hand and started......It was very simple as you see its only blocks of squares..and then you arrange them .... together like a patchwork quilt....the wool baby soft.... so yummy to work with ....I must admit My friend Pat did sew the hair on for me .....when it was completed .....once again I danced around yelling ......I Did It!!!!!!!!!!

The Wedding Quilt



My son (Peter) married a beautiful Japanese girl (Yuka)...So I thought I better get

.......Stitching...and make this Hexagon Quilt....Let me tell you 740 Pieces I cut out,and then started sewing it....together...

Well days turn into nights....nights turn into weeks & weeks into months....but when I look back....I had a lovely time & put so much love into this Quilt...and when the last thread was cut.....I sprang to my feet and danced around my sewing room Yelling I Did It!!!!!!!


The fabric I choose-----Navy Blue---With Little White Oval Leaves---And Then The Edge was In A Rust Red------

Getting into Christmas

I thought it would be nice to share how to make (what I call)
my
Christmas lolly tree.
* 1 small or larger foam cone from craft or cheap shops
* hot glue gun
* as many packets of violet crumble or whatever takes your fancy

Tip. always start from the bottom and work your way up!

Grannie Has Empty Nest

Grandmas (secret Christmas pudding) yummy

Yesterday the family flew back to New Zealand...
I walk around this house............... going from room to room............. looking for littlies
....and no sound or them to be found......
We had a great time camping...
the small folk were so excited........ opening Christmas gifts....and what a feast we had......for our early Christmas lunch....
Also
there was
boating & swimming,
and of course.
... the Ladies verse the Men in our
Ten- Pin-Bowling
Tournament.
..well what fun was that!!!!!!!!
every one commented how they enjoyed the game...
yes the main ladies team won.......
well done Grannie Jeni's team

The Car is packed......Tomorrow morning ...we are off camping for the weekend....(11 in all) Having our family Christmas early ...as the crew from New Zealand are over....Hope I haven't left anything behind..............First in the car.... my grandmas (secret recipe) plum pudding...made in September...Custard...All Santa's gift's...are hiding in the car....that's very ...very...important....when you have 3 little people...(15 months- 2 1/2 years & 3 1/2 years )

What a delight...it just wouldn't be the same .....I love the look of Excitement.... Surprise.......and the joy they give us ...

Crab-n-around

Well look what we have a crab.

...but its under size..... female .....

so back it went into the water







All this rain...the canals are so muddy..........

so Wayne & I are off to put crab pots out..

a million bats are flying in the sky.

maybe that's good luck....

will look again in the morning .....

if we are lucky.

.. maybe catch a mud crab or two yummieeeeeeee



Well what a day... after the wild storm last night...... while driving ... I noticed the out side was 35 degrees.wow.......and they are talking about more storms tonight.....after work ...............I jump right into making the Lemon Meringue Pie .............Kylie and her family are arriving tomorrow ........I am just a little excited...............seeing the grand-babies is always so much fun ....................

Spending Thursday With Esther Catherine (My Mum)


Born on 3rd March (1936)
Married at 18 years
So Beautiful a person........
Every second Thursday...I drive to mums ....she come's back to my home,
we have
breakfast & lunch together.....my father has a break....
After breakfast we go to visit George (hairdresser) she just loves that outing....as we have morning tea..and a sing--song....
You see my mum has (Dementia) mum that I have always known has gone now....no more ringing up..... as mum would be my dictionary..... when I was typing a letter...as no spellcheck...in those days....no ringing and saying..... mum............. how about I pick you up in 10 minutes and we go off shopping.......no more hugs & kisses from the old (mum)....no more mother and daughter talks.....but I still have her...now I just look and smile at her...................she is still my beautiful mum.....you never know what road is ahead..............always treasure each memory

I have been so stress with (Blog..Land).....but I think that its o.k. now......Well I hope!!!!!!!!



This is the first of about 10 boiled fruit cakes.....I make for family and friends ,for Christmas
......I am very blessed ....each year that I am ask....



This one is for Aunt Mabel ......I am sure that we all have a Aunt Mabel somewhere.....

I have been busy preparing for my daughter Kylie.&...husband John....& grandchildren Ed & Elia,,as they arrrive this Saturday for 10 days from New Zealand........so all the family will be (together) having a early Christmas..............Saturday 29th November...we will all be camping...@ Boyd's Bay (Tweed Heads)>>>In the morning we are off to the local Ten Pin Bowling Alley...

2 teams girls verse boys...............and then our Christmas lunch (B.B.Q )seafood.salads and of course plum pudding and custard.....I am so looking forward to spending time with our kids and also their children....Gee I am starting to feel old.......

I am afraid to say that not much Patchwork has been going on..................but I have manage to still go to Monday night crocheting....which I love as much as Patchwork............I am going to get busy after Christmas ...................I have promise myself....Patchwork will be number 1 on the list.................it has rained most of the day .....................I think its here for a few more days...

Started the morning early by walking down to the harbour ....it was all down hill........but Kylie & John did walk back in the afternoon to get the car.................for us oldies...we had a great time on a harbour cruise......the weather was just Beautiful....the kids were great...............what more could you ask for..................

Wednesday night.

After work we caught the 5.10pm plane out of Brisbane......I was happy... that I had A T.V. in back of the seat in front of me in the plane ..........I watch a Kiwi film (Second -Hand Wedding)..it was very enjoyable...and the next thing we were landing ....I must admit I am not a good flyer...very happy when my feet are safely on the ground ..............

I am feeling very please with myself .....cleaning out the sewing room....finding a Quilt Project that I Started at least 7 years ago....well in the last couple of days ...I put the frame around the blocks (the original fabric)....I was going to use....didn't have enough....
I have decided to do more (framing than the pattern).....and guess what!!!!!! had to look for more fabric.............as the 7 year old fabric is discontinued....... surprise surprise........but it was fun choosing the new fabric.....so here's hoping.....(Get to it Jeni)...........(I say)..... all the colours I love.....and if you hide something long enough ...it will resurface............this quilt needs to be finish....

Doves......(H.E.L.P.)

Is anyone out in Blog-Land that can help???????
I have beautiful Stags...every spring the Doves decided what a beautiful nest for my babies.....and start building and laying eggs....I forget from one spring to the next.... start watering ...the next thing.... the Dove fly's out...I jump and scream..the nest is wet...............and mum never comes back to the eggs its so sad....Maybe someone out in Blog-Land knows what I can lay in the Stags.... so mum doesn't even look to start her nest....

Russell Island


Saturday 13th September...the family met by 8.30am at Redland Bay... Barge -Terminal to line ours cars up ......as we were traveling from the main land to the island ...it was a great day spending time with the kids(even though they are adults) but to us they are just kids.....the weather was just glorious...spring is here ...............so now I can garden and quilt ...my 2 favourite hobbies...............
